POSTPONED
Dear Friend of Archimedes,
We have an important announcement to make regarding the September 18-21 Health Care Security Week. We are postponing the workshop and pre-workshop training to a later date in 2024. In place of this Sep 2023 workshop, we will be holding an exclusive, by-invitation only, executive sit-down meeting with Dr. Suzanne Schwartz of FDA on Wednesday, September 20 at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. This intimate event provides a rare opportunity for open dialogue with Dr. Suzanne Schwartz of FDA on medical device security. We anticipate that this will be helpful as medical device manufacturers and health care delivery organizations make their final preparations for when the new Refuse to Accept guidance goes into full effect on October 1st. After this date, submission acceptance will be contingent on meeting the new statutory changes to the FD&C Act that resulted from the passage of the Omnibus Act so this becomes mission-critical for manufacturers. This will be an opportunity to better understand these new expectations from FDA.
We will be reaching out separately to each member institution to join this free “Conversation with Dr. Suzanne Schwartz” along with our listening session of member institutions on your needs and challenges for medical device security. Look for this email for free registration by Wednesday, September 6.
For those who registered for our Sep 18-21 events, refunds will be issued, and you will be receiving information from us shortly. We’re genuinely sorry about any inconvenience caused for our loyal members and attendees.
We look forward to re-engaging with everyone at a larger-scale event next year which will be co-chaired by Michelle Jump (of MedSec), Debra Bruemmer (formerly of Mayo Clinic) and me. Please stay tuned for announcements to come for our 2024 Archimedes workshop where we will recreate the interactive space to deliver an impactful event with which Archimedes has become synonymous. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Prof. Kevin Fu, Ph.D. and the Archimedes Team
